1. Introduction
The slip on welded cement basket includes a high-strength articulated type and a flexible bow mounted on the end collar.
The cement basket can accommodate holes much larger than the nominal holes.
They range in size from 4½ inches to 20 inches, and any specific size. With this type of design, the cement basket can rotate and reciprocate. This type of cement basket is available in welded and non-welded convex arches.

The canvas cement basket is composed of heavy-duty canvas linings, which are concentrated into wooden strips and are made of high-strength, flexible steel bows mounted on steel sliding-in end collars.
The basket is not repetitive, and is sometimes allowed to move within the length of the joint to allow movement of the pipe.
The cement basket has a better ability to adapt to the hole, and can accommodate a size larger than the nominal hole.
These sizes are suitable for various hole sizes and standard casings.
They are recommended for various standard casing grades.
2. Application
Cement basket is an isolation device, used for preventing cement slurry from sedimentation due to being displaced with drilling fluid, during the cementing process of suspended cementing interval. The baskets are not copied and occasionally allow traveling the length of the joint to allow pipe movement. The cement basket has better ability to adapt to the bore hole and contain larger than nominal hole sizes.

Installed at the bottom of suspended cementing interval, it supports cement in annulus to avoid or reduce the loss of cement slurry and protect the weak formation structure so as to prevent excessive static pressure generated by the weight of cement string.
It is usually installed on the casing string above the weak formation structure, but also used during stratified cementing and surface cementing. Each metal fin on the cement basket provides maximum flexibility and fluid flow passage at the same time of maintaining the optimized supporting characteristics.
