I. Introduction
Thread protector is used to protect the threads of tubing pipe, casing pipe, drill pipe, sucker rod and polished rod from damage during loading, unloading, transportation, storage.

II. Materials & Characteristics
A. Heavy Duty Plastic Type
Material: PE
Advantage: 1. Environment friendly, convenient to recycle and reuse;
                     2. Simple process, low cost.
Disadvantage: 1. Impact resistant ability is relatively weak.
               2. High shrinkage rate of dimensions during -46ºC to 66ºC.

B. Press Steel Type
Material: Steel, mainly used for drilling tools.
Advantage: 1. Environment friendly, convenient to recycle and reuse.
Disadvantage: 1. High hardness, easy to wear and damage connectors' thread while impacting.
               2. Poor sealing effect, easy to fill sand and water

C. Composite Type
Material: PE & Steel, we have steel inserted type and assembly type.
Advantage: 1. Combine the advantages of the above two materials, be effectively resistant to impact and effectively protect threads.
            2. Good sealing effect, effectively isolate water, sand, etc.; Tightly coated with thread compound, protecting the joints against the corrosion of rust.
            3. Little shrinkage rate of dimensions during -46ºC to 66ºC.Hard to loose and easy to use.
